With this crochet pattern, you can make a happy little sun crinkle toy for babies.
Size & Age
This toy is light weight, flat and not too big (diameter is about 20 cm or 7 ¾ inch). As such, it is easy for little hands to pick up and intended as one of the first toys for babies.
Features
The different colors and shapes of the sun rays invite the baby to investigate the toy. As babies mainly see contrasts in the beginning, the seventies rings on the back are not just stylish, but also meant to attract the baby’s attention. Lastly, the crinkle material also adds sound.
In short, it is a toy for babies to feel, see as well as hear!
Skill level
Easy: only basic crochet stitches are needed.
Yarn
I used four colors of fine cotton yarn and 1 ball of 50 g per color. You only need about 20 g of the main color (face) and about 10 g of the other three colors. I like to use Schachenmayr Catania or Scheepjes Catona yarn, but you can use any fine yarn that is 100 % cotton.

Color blind friendly
I made an effort to make all of the Home of Yarns patterns color blind friendly, with dark text on a white background and if a chart is included, it is always in addition to written out instructions. For the charts, I use symbols in either black and white or other highly contrasting color combinations. I am quite positive that I did a good job, but I am no expert on color blindness.
